After retiring as a professional player, having reached a career-high ranking of No. 88 in the ATP rankings in 1996, Górriz began coaching. Initially, he coached players such as Alberto Martín and Albert Portas, whom he led to the Hamburg Masters 1000 title in 2001. From there, he was appointed head of the Colombian Colsanitas team, a generation that included Alejandro Falla and Santiago Giraldo.

From his first day to his last at the Rafa Nadal Academy, Górriz’s passion for tennis has inspired not only the players but also everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him. During this period a second Rafa Nadal Academy has been opened in Kuwait, as well as three sports centres called Rafa Nadal Tennis Centres located in Mexico, Greece and Hong Kong.
